Students chose a Minor Professional Strand to follow during their second year. The Minor Pathway is designed to complement a student's Major Pathway and focus the student on their future vocational career within the industry.

Subject choices and Production Show Roles or Project Work include:

Stage Management (Deputy Stage Manager, Assistant Stage Manager)
Scenic Construction (Deputy Carpenter, Assistant Carpenter, Carpenter)
Prop Making (Deputy Prop Maker, Prop Maker)
Costume Production (Deputy Costume Supervisor, Costume Maker)
Lighting and Sound (Chief Electrician, Deputy Chief Electrician, Sound Designer)

The aims of this module are to:
Develop the students' skills in their chosen field

Enhance the students' knowledge of the collaborative Production/Project process

Develop the students' professionalism in the key skills areas:
Communication, reliability, time management;
Team work;
Initiative and self-motivation;
Committment and flexibility;
Organisation

Develop the students Practical Skills in the key areas of:
Quality and finish of practical work;
Attention to detail on practical work;
Management and organisation of the student work environment;

Develop the students understanding of the importance of reflection and critical thinking

Develop the students understanding of the importance of documentation and record keeping

Students will work on practical productions and/or projects during this module in their chosen major discipline
