Memento Mori skull18th May 2018, From 12noon

Dying Matters Week takes place from the 14th-20th of May. It aims to encourage people to talk more openly about dying, death and bereavement. It is also hoped that the week will help support those grieving for the loss of a loved one.

This year, the question being asked is a simple one, "What Can You Do... in your community?"

The overall aim of the week is to get people more active in planning for dying and death.

To help raise awareness of this important topic, the School of Health and Social Care is hosting a Death Café. This will give you an opportunity to explore how death and dying can inspire the way we live. Death isn't always easy to talk about, but at the Death Café people can come together in a safe and supportive environment to talk about death and dying. The directed discussion has no agenda, objective or themes, and is not intended as a bereavement support or grief counselling session.

Attending the Death Café is free, but spaces are limited. Lunch will be provided. Please RSVP using Eventbrite.
