Recording Retention periods for Zoom - what are they?

Depending on how the Zoom event was initiated, there are differing policies. Both advertised at https://www.essex.ac.uk/staff/it-services/getting-started-with-zoom#recordings:

Ad-hoc Zoom sessions created by staff/students (not scheduled based on teaching timetables)

  • Kept for 93days then deleted from Zoom
  • Staff warned via email at 60days and 80days
  • Warning email includes instructions on how to download the recording, or import into Panopto/ListenAgain if the recording is a teaching resource (http://listenagain.essex.ac.uk/secure/zoom.aspx)

Zoom sessions scheduled based on timetable data

  • Kept for 24h after import into Panopto/ListenAgain (although this is closer to 7days in practice), then deleted from Zoom
  • Staff not warned about deletion from Zoom
