This module is designed to prepare students for their final year project. It will introduce them to the options available, and give an overview of techniques and processes through which they can achieve the best possible results, regardless of their chosen project module or their choice of topic. It will consist of five two-hour seminars that are designed to encourage students to establish their research interests, acknowledge their strengths as they approach their final year. It will also seek to help them identify areas of weakness or gaps in their knowledge of research, analysis and writing methods. Sessions will involve looking at examples of political science research critically, as well student-led discussions of research areas of interest for potential future exploration in a student project.
