The module is a progressive module of Advanced Interpreting Skills and aims to prepare the students for the professional level of simultaneous and consecutive interpreting tasks.
Based on the learning from the Advanced Interpreting Skills, this module introduces new technologies including hardware, software and the use of high quality corpora, to improve interpreters’ performance to a higher level. The focus of the practice will be precise renditions and professional presentation out of various interpreting modes, including, sight translation, consecutive interpreting, bilateral interpreting and simultaneous interpreting.
With a clearly defined scenario and context at each class, interpreters will be required to perform under strict peer and expert review.
At the end of the module, students will be formally assessed on consecutive and simultaneous interpreting (C-E and E-C) modes with the assistance of technologies.
