This module explores the long-lasting and changing forms of the 'classical' body in Western art. It looks at the various ways the 'classical' has been constructed or deconstructed in art to uphold or challenge power, norms, and ideals, focusing primarily on the eighteenth century to the present, from sculpture to painting to cinema to couture.
