A substantial component of this course is based on the students own practice in their workplace. This module builds on the experience during the foundation degree and is geared to enhancing the effectiveness of the student in their work and helping them develop professionally and to take up a more senior role. They will continue with normal work responsibilities and with individual work as appropriate to their role, including mentoring and supervision of others. The mentor will review aspects of overall work experience, with various aspects of the degree scheme work in mind. These reviews will take the form, not only of general discussions, but also of a series of formative assessments in which particular skills will be reviewed.
