This module is an introduction to some of the various sub-fields that comprise psychology. It will include lectures on topics such as sensation, perception, learning, memory, abnormal psychology, child development, language, personality and social psychology.
Lectures will be taught by Dr Vanessa Loaiza, Dr Rick O'Gorman, Dr Maria Laura Filipetti, Dr Philip Cozzolino, Dr. Rael Dawtry and Dr Rachel Cooper. Dr Rachel Cooper, Dr. Silvia Rigato and Dr. Philip Cozzolino will provide content tutorials across both terms that will support the learning of material taught in the main lectures. Tutorials on literacy skills will also be available across term 1 and the beginning of term 2 from academic staff from the Talent Development Centre. A lecturer will be available during a weekly office hour to further discuss the content of lectures if students so wish. No appointment will be necessary.
