This module requires students to have achieved good understanding, and gained practical experiences of various interpreting modes including sight translation, consecutive interpreting, bilateral interpreting and simultaneous interpreting.

In this module, every class has a clearly defined scenario and context. Students will not only practice the individual modes of interpreting, but also learn to convert between sight translation and simultaneous interpreting, bilateral interpreting and simultaneous interpreting, or consecutive interpreting and simultaneous interpreting, when the specific task requires.

The module recognizes the paramount importance of subject knowledge, terminologies and personal experiences, therefore students will be exposed to technical subjects and taken to the design museums and industrial sites such as the Mini-cooper robotic factory, to practice interpreting in public.

At the end of the module, students will be formally assessed on bilateral and simultaneous interpreting (C-E and E-C) modes.
