This module follows from LW218 Introduction to Public International Law and builds upon students’ knowledge of general international law.
Students will delve into three specialized areas of international law:
- Human Rights (HR)
- International Humanitarian Law (IHL), and
- International Criminal Law (ICL).
In tutorials, we will typically focus on current events, such as the war in Ukraine. This is because one of the areas that this module covers is the laws that apply in war and the consequences that breaching such norms may have, including proceedings in The Hague.
