This compulsory BA Acting and Stage Combat module is designed to awaken students to a variety of processes that contribute to the making of a production. As the BA Hons programme continues to prepare you to engage and take part in a professional theatre environment, this module will introduce and explain the roles of various practitioners. You will experiment with different styles and techniques of staging, alongside learning about the duties of various theatre practitioners.
This final year module is designed to prepare you for the requirements of the Graduation Project and to introduce you to the basic working systems and organisation of professional theatre or touring theatre companies.
Staging Scenes
This unit is designed to introduce the practice of directing scenes for the stage. This practice will add to your understanding of how a story is delivered through action, space and movement - complementing the specifics that you learned when exploring fight choreography. During the classes, you will have the opportunity to stage a scene, where the concept, design and overall staging of the scene will be the decision of the director. You will gain experience of:
