This module runs for two 10-week terms . It connects the theory and clinical seminars with the work-based practice, and therefore binds the whole programme together. It is designed around clinical vignettes which illustrate the complexities and pathologies of human interrelationships. Some of these vignettes will be displayed as peer-reviewed journal articles, some will be anecdotal from professional sources and some will be first-hand DVD diaries of Looked After Children (LAC) relating their experiences of being in care. The content therefore will be avowedly human and interactional. The tutor will invite observations, comments and speculations from the students on the evolving content of what they see.
Students will be asked to look at the vignettes from different angles, in line with the topics they are studying in the seminars. They will also provide a focus for looking at aspects of one s clinical work with their workplace supervisor. In addition, the e-learning website will be used to provide additional material for study and to direct attention to various relevant themes for the week or for the current course.
